An annual visit to Bredon Hill to look for Dingy Skipper and Green Hairstreak. Unfortunately the best places are not on public rights of way nor on the National Nature Reserve. This year I found 41 Dingy Skippers but only 1 Green Hairstreak. Early Small Heath and Common Blues were also found.
The typical habitat for the Dingy is old quarry workings heavily rabbit grazed.
A visit to Wyre Forest to monitor the numbers of Pearl-bordered Fritillary. Map showing sightings. The three main areas The Pipe Line, The Railway line and Longdon Orchard.
The Railway Line
Visit to Ewyas Harold to monitor numbers of Pearl-bordered Fritillary. The visit was on 05/05/2017. The weather was sunny but rather cool

This Sunday we returned to Penny Hill land fill site to complete the scrub removal and to chip the brash. A lovely day with sightings of Small Tortoiseshell and Comma.
The bad news was that Ash Die-back was spotted.
